Vaginas Chronicles: Does size matter?

Written by Gemina

If you’re thinking I am talking about penis size… you are WRONG! A man’s penis is not the only thing that matters when it comes to size and sexual pleasure. Your vagina, believe it or not, does not stay at one particular size. There are changes that occur to accommodate whatever is going on at that time. The vagina is very elastic in that it is fashioned to stretch and expand. “The walls of the vagina are similar to those of the stomach, they have rugae, meaning they fold together to collapse when unused, then expand when necessary1.”

When a woman is aroused, the vaginal canal grows (width and length), some longer and wider than the length of an actual penis. Tis growth helps accommodate penetration. “Vagina lengths, unstimulated, range from 2.75 inches to about 3¼ inches. When a woman is aroused, it increased to 4.25 inches to 4.75 inches1.” So how does length relate to sexual satisfaction? If you have a partner who is well endowed or using a large dildo, you can experience great discomfort. Vice versa, if your partner’s penis or dildo is on the smaller side, there will be lack of sensation and stimulation.

So… does size mater? Of course it does!!

Gemina’s Recommendations:

  • Try different positions that will maximize using what you have to get what you want

  • Some people require more than vaginal stimulation

  • Everyone’s vagina is different. Don’t be bummed out if your friend is bragging how much pleasure her she gets from 8”. The same amount of pleasure and satisfaction can be reached by 4”
